Jurisdiction

The Inspector General has jurisdiction over the following individuals and legal entities:

  • the City;
  • officers or employees of the City or of agencies related to the City;
  • members of a council;
  • members of a selection committee;
  • members of the mayor of the City’s office;
  • designated councillors under section 114.5 of the Cities and Towns Act;
  • any staff member of such an office under section 114.5 of the Cities and Towns Act;
  • persons or representatives of the following legal entities:
    • Entities that are part of the City's reporting entity;
    • Entities of which the City or a mandatary of the City appoints more than 50% of the members of the board of directors;
    • Entities of which the City or a mandatary of the City holds more than 50% of the outstanding voting shares or units;
    • Entity that has a contractual relationship with the City or with a legal person;
    • Subcontractor of a person or entity that has a contractual relationship with the City or with a related legal entity.
