The committee is responsible for reviewing all matters pertaining to the mandate of the Inspector General and formulating recommendations it deems appropriate to council. It exercises this function at the request of council or the executive committee, or on its own initiative.
The operating procedures of the committee
The operating procedures of the committee are foreseen in the By-law of the city council standing committee concerning the Inspector General [Règlement sur la commission permanente du conseil municipal sur l’inspecteur général (14-013)] and the By-law concerning the urban agglomeration standing committee respecting the Inspector General [Règlement sur la commission permanente du conseil d’agglomération sur l’inspecteur général (RCG 14-014)]. Given the confidential and strategic nature of the information exchanged, access to the committee’s work is limited to the people concerned. Each committee member pledges to preserve the utmost confidentiality of the information received.
